Carl is an unabashed tree hugger and critter lover, which naturally led him to join and volunteer with Pasadena Audubon Society. He got into birding several years ago as a family activity to enhance adventures in the great outdoors. With a life-list creeping up on 700, his favorite sighting so far is Central America’s Three-wattled Bellbird, but he derives as much pleasure from watching and listening to the birds in his Pasadena neighborhood. When he’s not birding, you can usually find him camping, working on word puzzles, taking in a soccer match, reading science fiction, or making groan-worthy dad jokes.
